Kingsley Achikeh, DDS
Dr. Kingsley Achikeh has practiced in Silver Spring since 1997. His approach combines comprehensive general dentistry with experience in implant dentistry, laser dentistry, restorative care, and oral-surgery-related treatment.
Dr. Achikeh earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1987. He continued his clinical education through general practice residency training with the Veterans Administration in Cleveland and at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, where he received an outstanding resident award. He later completed an internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Case Western Reserve University Hospital and Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland.
His continuing education has included clinical laser training and advanced implant study. Practice records note an Associate Fellowship with the World Clinical Laser Institute and a Mastership awarded by the International Dental Implant Association.
Dr. Achikeh’s recorded professional memberships include the American Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantology, International Dental Implant Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Maryland State Dental Association.
His goal is to help patients leave the office healthier, more comfortable, and more confident about their smiles. Outside dentistry, he enjoys traveling and soccer.
Francoise E. Engel, DDS
Dr. Francoise E. Engel provides orthodontic care and brings decades of clinical and teaching experience to City Place Dental.
Dr. Engel earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University Paris VII in France in 1979. After working in general dentistry, she moved to the United States to pursue orthodontic training and received her Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
Her academic career included service as a Clinical Associate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She later joined the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio as an Assistant Professor and taught full time in its orthodontics department for nine years. In 1994, she accepted a faculty position at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore, where she taught and practiced orthodontics before moving into private practice.
Dr. Engel’s treatment philosophy emphasizes personalized attention, clear communication, and thoughtful orthodontic planning. Outside the practice, she enjoys outdoor activities and the arts.
