Using a tool called an elevator, Dr. Achikeh will loosen the tooth from surrounding hard and soft tissue. While patients are numbed to prevent any discomfort, it’s normal to experience some pressure as the tooth is removed.
After the tooth is extracted, Dr. Achkieh will clean the socket and remove remaining tissue to prepare your smile for restoration or healing. Sometimes the tooth is positioned incorrectly or has decayed in a way that requires our team to complete a more complex preparation process to extract the tooth. In the cases of complex wisdom teeth extraction, additional treatments to aid in patient comfort can be utilized, while simple extraction may only require local anesthetic.
